I have heard of people doing this so that it only costs 40 cents a gallon to drive your vehicle. An also heard it does absolutely no harm to your engine. Any truth to this? How do you convert cooking oil to diesel gasoline?
Here is an explanation of how it is done, it winds up costing like 40 cents a gallon. Apparently it works pretty good though.

I've seen it done, but I think your car must be a diesel. Everything you need to know about biodiesel is here: http://www.biodiesel.org/
Look up ';bio-diesel'; on the net. there is a procedure to make cooking oil usable on diesels.
You must purchase a refining system to chemically process the WVO (Waste Vegetable Oil) into biodiesel. They sell them on Ebay for about $1500. Not only is it cheap to produce, but the federal government will pay you $1/gallon for all the biodiesel you make and use. You can use the WVO in a diesel engine, but it will give you worse gas mileage, less power, and dramatically shorten the life of your engine.
You don't. If you need to cook, you use cooking oil. If your car runs on diesel fuel, you use diesel fuel. It's easy, try it.
I have heard that you just filter it first.
