Is there anything that can get vegetable cooking oil out of clothes?

I have already washed and dried the shirt because I didn't know the cooking oil was there. It is one of my fav shirts and I'd really like to be able to save it. So...doesn someone know what can get cooking oil out of clothes that's been washed and dried?Is there anything that can get vegetable cooking oil out of clothes?

Shout! I use ';shout'; on everything. It takes anything out. Just put it on the stain and let it sit until your next load of laundry. I've used it on butter, dressing, mayonnaise...anything. It always works.
Next time that happens, leave whatever you're doing and get some talc powder. Put the powder directly onto the stain, don't be afraid of putting loads (it's supposed to absorb the oil, so if be sure to be generous). Then leave and wash normally in the washer machine (min 50`C).





In your case, because you have already washed the shirt, try dabbing the stain with loads of dishwashing liquid. Then was with hot water. If it doesn't make it better, do the talc powder trick. Because the oil doesn't ';dry';, the talc will still absorb it. Just water won't get rid of the stain.

Try methylated spirits.
On the laundry aisle, there are little yellow bottles called stain devils. See if there's a bottle for oil.





I hope you can fix it--oil is one of my hardest stains.
Try rubbing in a little Dawn Dish Soap. It is good for animals when they have been involved in an oil spill to wash out the oil and I have done it to my cat before when he got into motor oil. So try some of that. I know its only vegetable oil but it sould work.
Try scrubbing the stain with some dawn, then rinsing well before re washing. I’ve also had good luck with just scrubbing the spot with tide and letting it sit a bit then washing again.
Chronic problem I've had. The best way to get the oil out is actually by using WD 40 to bond to the grease stain and then massage in dishwashing detergent like Sunlight (use the good stuff) the detergent will pull out the WD 40 plus your grease stain. Note: Make sure that you completely cover the old stain with WD 40 and that you massage in the detergent over the boundary of the grease stain. Otherwise you will be left with a nice grease ring from the part the detergent failed to saturate.
Since you have dried it, likely setting the stain in, make a paste of Dawn dish soap and baking soda. Apply it to the stained area(s) and let it sit overnight. Launder as usual.
Try oxy clean... readily available at Wal Mart now... :)
put some dish soap like Dawn on there and let it sit for about 10 minutes then throw it in the wash...i do this all the time.
