How much cooking oil do you use if a recipe calls for shortening?

peanut butter cookies call for a 1/2 cup of shortening and i only have cooking oil do you know how much i should use?How much cooking oil do you use if a recipe calls for shortening?
1 cup shortening = 2/3 cup oilHow much cooking oil do you use if a recipe calls for shortening?
You can use shortening, vegetable oil, or whatever u want to. I didnt have veggie oil for corn bread and i used olive oil
None, it has to be shortening!!!!!
none, i go to the store and get shortning
Um, it won't work the same. Don't you have butteror stick margarine? You can sub that out in equal parts for shortening. But liquid oil will give you a really greasy product.
Well, you are taking a chance, but 1 cup should work.
WRONG! ... you need shortning, the solid stuff!
Use 戮 cup of real butter instead.
Substituting oil may not work very well. If you have a solid fat, like butter or stick margarine, substitute 1/2 cup plus 1 tablespoon.

A solid fat is important to the texure and shape of the cookie. It also plays a role when mixing ingredients together. It helps them cream together and incorporate a little air in the process.
Use this recipe and you won't need any.

1 cup peanut butter

1/2 cup white sugar

1 egg

Mix well. Bake at 325 10-12 minutes.

Enjoy.
